<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissues of neck show a tubular structure lined by stratified squamous epithelium. Lining is focally ulcerated with related moderate inflammatory reaction. Wall of the cyst shows focally unremarkable thyroid follicles. No evidence of malignancy.</p>
<p>Neck cyst?? thyroglossal cyst.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue fragment measuring 2.5 x 1.5 x 1 cm. Sectioning revealed a cystic structure measuring 1.5 x 1.3 cm, filled with greyish material.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Neck cyst, excision: </u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Thyroglossal duct cyst, inflamed.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
