<p>A benign well encapsulated tumor formed of small and large follicles full of colloid and lined by unremarkable cuboidal cells. Adjacent thyroid tissue is compressed. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy. </p>
<p>Goiter.</p>
<p>Thyroid lobe 7x4.5x4 cm, cut section showing replacement of total lobe by a soft brownish nodule. Capsule is intact.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Rt. Hemithyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Follicular adenoma.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
