Gall bladder wall shows moderate fibrosis and focally ulcerated mucosal lining with related moderate to focally marked infiltrate of lymphocytes, plasma cells and abundant foamy histiocytes. Such infiltration is extending to peri-cholecystic fat with related vascular congestion and interstitial hemorrhage. Glands exhibit focal cystic dilatation and appear to be entrapped within muscular coat (Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses). No evidence of atypia or malignancy.

Received opened gallbladder measuring 6.5x2 cm in length with a thickened wall of 0.5 cm. The mucosa is green and ulcerated, contained two calculi, the largest measuring 0.8 cm.
