Gastric mucosa showing mild atrophy of glands and mild infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. There is evidence of focal inflammatory activity manifested by few neutrophils infiltrating glands, however H. pylori characteristic forms are seen. No evidence of intestinal metaplasia, atypia or malignancy.
The patient presents with chronic epigastric pain and was found upon upper endoscopy to have esophageal candidiasis and congestive gastropathy.
