Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Cellular tumor composed of fascicles or whorly bundles of proliferating spindle cells with fusiform or blunt ended elongated nuclei. Anaplasia is moderate and mitosis is increased. Picture is suggestive of gastrointestinal stromal tumor, recommended for marker study (CD117, DOG1, CD34, SMA, H-caldesom, S100, and Ki-67).</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Large irregular thick-walled cavitary mass in the left upper abdomen with internal air–fluid level compre<em></em>ssing adjacent bowel loops and associated hepatic focal lesions, suspicious for GIST with possible metastases.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Two cores measuring 1.3 cm long, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Left upper abdomen cavitary mass, core biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Cellular spindle cell tumor.</strong></li><li><strong>Suggestive of gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST)</strong></li><li><strong>Recommended for confirmatory marker study. </strong></li></ul>
